Remedies and Therapies
Herbal and Vitamins
Below are some home remedies, and even unique herbs, that have been valued by many who have suffered from pancreatitis. Although most are not common, they’re worth a try if the diet/enzyme attempts have not proven successful on their own. Some call them their “homemade cure for pancreatitis”.
- Milk Thistle
- Dandelion Root
- Olive Leafs (anti-inflammatory)
- Curcumin (helps with swelling)
- Vitamins B3, B5, C, and E
Surprising to some, many people have concluded that yoga has become one of the new cures for pancreatitis . Although it doesn’t involve the intake of anything, it’s claimed that yoga can help decrease stress and anxiety. Along with that, it is also claimed that “the right” yoga position can actually stimulate the pancreas and help it to detox itself.
A Little R & R (Rest and Relaxation)
Some have found that taking some time to give yourself some great sleep and total rest has acted
as a simple cure for pancreatitis. They claim that taking an extended amount of time sleeping and relaxing has helped decrease their symptoms and has made them feel a lot better.
Other have taken a little more difficult approach to curing their pancreatitis by fasting for a day or two. The idea is that you give your bowels some time for them to fix themselves without irritating your pancreas for a time. After you have gone without anything and need to eat or drink, start with only liquids (and if needed small and very simple foods). Do this for a short time and then slowly introduce simple and easy foods that are bland.
